We can register a domain name for you.
Does Cyberstitches Design transfer domain names?
Yes. Transferring a domain name requires that we have the password, login and name of the company that your current domain name is registered with.
Hosting companies:
What is a hosting company? Why do I need one?
When you look up a web site the pages are pulled up from a server. Your hosting company runs a server where the information of your web site is stored. We recommend the hosting company Prodigious Design when we set up a new site for a client. Prodigious Design is a reliable, affordable hosting company that offers solid tech support.
Can I switch my hosting company?
Yes. Once we have the password, login, and name of your current hosting company it is easy to transfer your site.
I want to keep my current hosting company.
No problem. All that we will need is the password, login and name of the company that you are currently using.
Web Site Management:
What happens if my site needs changes after it is completed?
We provide web site maintenance at an hourly rate.
What if I want to manage my own site?
If you want to manage your own site just let us know and we will transfer maintenance responsibilities over to you or another web master once the project goes live.
Don't know how?
We offer training at an hourly rate. Lessons can be over the phone or, if local, in person.
Can I see how many hits my site is getting?
Yes. Most hosting companies contain that data and more in the back of their client's web sites. If you choose to work with Prodigious Design we will give you a password protect code allowing you to enter the back of your site and instructions on how to find and read data concerning your site.
What code do you use? Our non e-commerce sites are written in HTML, XHTML, and CSS. We use linked stylesheets. Our shopping carts and blogs are written in PHP.
