General Questions:
Do I need a shopping cart?
Surprisingly you may not. Cyberstitches Design can work with you to figure out if an on-line shopping cart is the best solution to your business needs or if an alternative solution would be preferable. If a shopping cart is the best way to show case your product we can help you get the right cart services for your business model.
Which shopping cart code do you install? We use Zen Cart, an open source fully supported complete cart code. We like it because it is a tested, reliable shopping cart, our clients like it for Zen Cart's many features including: multiple shipping options, multiple payment options, a newsletter manager, discount coupons, gift certificates, featured products, and quantity discounts. How will people pay for my products on the shopping cart? Our carts support the following methods of payment: credit card processing via an internet merchant account, cash on delivery, check/money order, and
Paypal.
Does my shopping cart have to have a password? Yes. Shopping carts use the password/login combination to identify each customer. This is a necessary aspect of the check out process.
How do I know the cart works? We fully test before your shopping cart goes live.
Managing my cart:
I've heard that shopping carts are really complicated but I plan on changing my products frequently. Is there a way to make product changes myself? Yes. Parts of a shopping cart are quite complicated and should be left to the experts but when it comes to updating products or managing customers Zen Cart has been created with the non-expert user in mind. If you want to manage your own product updating we offer training at an hourly rate. Lessons can be over the phone or, if local, in person.
Shipping Options:
Can I get a shipping calculator for my shopping cart? Yes. Zen Cart offers a shipping calculator on the following forms of shipping: flat rate, free shipping, per item, per unit, store pick-up, table rate, UPS, and USPS.
What about adding a handling fee?
A handling fee can be added to your shipping calculator for any form of shipping.
What if I want to use FedEx?
Zen Cart is currently perfecting its ability to calculate Federal Express. While shipping calculations for Federal Express can be added to your cart for a fee we do not recommend this option at this time.
